Lizzards for three hours
Today has been perfect. A little bit of productivity - college and gym. Sorted before midday. Spent the next three hours with my girlies, basking in the sun in our bras and jeans. Like lizzards, only lizzards probably skip the bra/jeans bit. Eating tiramisu ice-cream with a long spoon, and counting flutter-byes. Making summer plans. Blotting out the sun with our fists, and horizontal-shimmying to songs we hadn't heard for years.
Sun and ice-cream. Who needs guys?! Arms above her head, sighing happily after having finished off half the icecream tub by herself. ME! we all knew she was thinking afterwards.
Walking back to town, they both smoked next to me. My God, they said, only eight left. It's amazing how fast they disappear.
It adds up, I told them, when you buy a pack of ten and then each smoke one. Ten minus two... Silence for a few minutes, almost like a pudding silence.
I can feel this killing me, they joked. We imagined blackening lungs. You're only young once, was how we felt for three hours.
Back to reality and revision!
