My post did sound a little harsh towards the light of my life, didn't it? But it is all true, and explains quite a lot about why we never argue anymore. His reward for such underhand tactics is that I will not argue over anything, but simply and subtly convince him of my way of thinking. So simple and subtle is this process, that he thinks it's all his own fabulous idea in the first place : )

Ahhh, my budgie also does that thing many males do, where it doesn't do anything unless it's his own idea... Occassionally it can be convinced that an idea which didn't belong to him originally WAS actually his....but this is a long and complicated procedure. It may have to be tried. I didn't particularly think it sounded harsh, more...true to life. And amusing, of course! :)
